Short version: Gunny is a pitbull who was used as a bait dog in illegal dog fights. He was injured so severely, he had to have 3 surgeries (one to amputate his leg, and then 2 more to repair the crush injuries to his throat from the other dogs’ powerful jaws)! Many people and rescues banded together to save Gunny. Now Gunny has a shot to give back by winning Natural Balance Pet Food’s Most Amazing Pet Contest. When Gunny wins, he will receive a year’s worth of free pet food ($1000 value). As a way to thank the wonderful people at the North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue, Gunny is donating all of his free pet food to them.
